Getting the wattage right for your bathroom isn’t about some complex formula. It’s really just about balancing how much heat you want versus how much is escaping through the walls and windows. If you just grab the most powerful lamp you can find, you’re either wasting money on your electric bill or making the room feel like a sauna.
Matching the Power to Your Space
Think about the size of the room first. If you’ve got a tiny powder room (under 4m²), keep it simple. Something between 250W and 500W is plenty. If you go too heavy in a cramped space, you’ll overheat the room and probably burn out the bulb way faster than it should. For those mid-sized bathrooms (5-10m²), you’re looking at the 600W to 1000W range. And if you have one of those massive master baths over 10m²? You’ll likely need a couple of 1000W units or one big high-output array to keep things cozy. Just a heads-up: don’t overdo it.
